Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Virginia Beach Pageants, a department of Image Capital Group LLC. Our pageants are natural to low/medium glitz pageants. They are great starter pageants for young ladies as well as fun and exciting pageants for our more experienced participants. Please see below for some of our more Frequently Asked Questions. If you do not see your question answered, please feel free to email email@example.com.
What age range may participate in your pageants?
We have 3 divisions.
Tiny Miss (0-4 yrs)
Little Miss (5-7 yrs)
Young Miss (8-12 yrs)
We reserve the right to change the age divisions due to the number of registered contestants.
If the age divisions change, you will be notified.
What is Fitness Wear?
Fitness wear can be any outfit from a sport or activity that you choose. Examples are tennis outfit, dance outfit, beach wear, etc. We do ask that any outfit chosen be age appropriate.
I'm not sure if my child's outfit is appropriate, can I submit a picture?
We do not accept photos of potential outfits. If you are questioning the appropriateness of an outfit, it may be best to choose something else.
Outfits deemed inappropriate by our judges, will result in the child being disqualified in the outfit's category and receiving a score of 0.
May I walk on stage with my child?
Parents may accompany/carry children in the Tiny Miss Division.
We do ask parents to be mindful their children are the stars and to wear clothing that does not outshine their little ones. Black clothing is a good option for parents who don't want to stand out.
My child is unable to attend, may I get a refund?
Registration fees are non-refundable. Optional category fees will be refunded up to 7 days before pageant date.
If you are unable to attend the pageant, we will transfer the registration fee to the next pageant.
Does my child have to participate in the Free Bonus Categories?
No. The bonus categories are optional.
My child wants to participate in the talent category, are there restrictions on what they can perform?
Contestants are free to be creative with the talent portion. All performances may not be longer than 2 min and 30 secs. Deduction of .1 will be made for performances exceeding the time limit.
Talent performances must be age appropriate. Performances deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.
Please note that explicit music is forbidden.
My child is signed up for the optional categories, how do I submit the pictures?
All optional categories, except Best Personality and Talent, require contestants to submit a 5 x 7 photo NO LATER THAN 1:00 PM on pageant day.
Photos must be turned in the day of pageant.
We request a photo for each category the child is entered in. If you choose to sign up for 3 categories and use the same photo, please bring 3 copies of the photo.
Failure to submit photos will result in disqualification from the optional category. We will not refund optional category fee.
Will my photos be returned to me?
Yes. Photos will be available at the end of the pageant for pickup.
My child is crying and will not go on stage. What do I do?
We will not force any child to participate who does not wish to do so. In addition, please note we will not refund registration fees.
Any contestant who doesn't walk the stage but changes their mind before the last person of their division walks the stage, may join the end of the line and be reintroduced. Once the next division is called to the stage, they will not be able to participate in the missed category of competition.
Why do we have to attend mandatory rehearsals?
Many of our pageant girls will be stepping on the stage for the first time. We require all contestants to attend so they become familiar with the stage and where the judges will be sitting, and of course to practice.
Failure to attend rehearsal will result in a .1 deduction off their final score.
Will I be able to see my child's scores and comments after the pageant?
We do not give out pageant scores. However, all judges are encouraged to notate constructive criticism and/or comments on their score cards.
To request judge's comments, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments will be available up to two weeks after the pageant.
